If there's one thing I understand clearly thus far - it's that the word 'climate change' has been over-politicized beyond measure, despite it being a fact.
However, regardless of political affiliation, I believe the people will always want clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, nutritious food to eat, and reliable energy for all.
Regardless of how its communicated, the message is still the same.
I think now more than ever, we need to emphasize that working in climate is working for a better, more prosperous future. It's about building a new tomorrow, and less about restricting it.
I hope for a day when everyone feels a sense of responsibility for our environment, and understands the relationship between ourselves and our planet. It's time we move away from much of the 'doom & gloom' and start treating climate-wins the same as breakthrough innovations, as they should be treated.
To each of you reading, you give me hope and encouragement that we will tackle this existential threat. There's still a long road ahead, but I'm confident in everything we can accomplish together.
It's up to you and me - and I know we got this.
Cheers,
Christopher Chacko
